HOLE CLEANING EFFICIENCY (HCE)
- Using the law of conservation of mass, the real time data quantifies the mass of rock generated at the bit and compares it to the mass of rock removed from the well at the flowline.
- This new empirical method used to determine hole cleaning efficiency has been extensively validated against conventional hydraulics, torque and drag, surge & swab models.
- The real time traces not only help quantify bottoms up effectiveness and sweep efficiency but provides the directional driller with real time drilling fluids data to aid in more accurate wellbore placement.
SOLIDS REMOVAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE (SRE)
- The same compositional material mass balance principles are used to determine solids removal efficiency, dilution economics & waste management KPI's.
- The real time density, % oil, % water, % HGS & % LGS become the foundation to a highly accurate volume reconciliation determination.
- The algorithm tracks each individual component of the mud system all the way through the well delivery process. Compositionally, the system monitors what was added as base oil, water, barite and mud products. It monitors what was transferred in/out of the system, it quantifies how much new hole was drilled and it tracks how much waste as gone out for disposal.
- Because of the accuracy of volume reconciliation, the system has become the most sophisticated early warning kick detection system available that can also quantify loss circulation severity and identify a ballooning event.
